How to clean stainless steel cookware factory polish residue?

For brand new stainless steel cookware, if you run a kitchen towel or tissue over the edge or even the smooth surface, you can wipe off some gray color or charcoal color polish residue, you know what I’m talking about. It seems, those polish residue is not like grease or oil, it is not hot soap water soluble.
